Transit

Buckingham is within commuting distance from London. I suspect many people drive to the train station in Milton Keynes, but we need to take the bus (about 25 minutes). There are two different trains: London-Midland and Virgin. The London-Midland tickets are cheaper and the train makes a couple of stops between Milton Keynes and London (Euston Station). The journey lasts about 50 minutes. The Virgin trains are nicer, even in economy class, and are direct, taking only 40 minutes but tickets cost more. From Euston station to the Tower of London, it was about 25 minutes on the Underground (including walking down long corridors). So, it takes us about 2 hours door-to-door or a little longer, as the bus between Buckingham-Milton Keynes only goes once an hour.
